A Final Word

The 2011 NZAIMS Sports Champs have now finished and our team can be proud of its achievements.

100 Team members

All of our team members are to be congratulated for their outstanding sportsmanship. It was clearly shown on the field of play. Observers, parents and opposition coaches indicated this to me on a number of occasions. Many of our teams received support from teams that we had beaten during the tournament. This can only happen as a result of good sportsmanship.

I was really impressed by the composure our teams showed when under pressure. I saw this when players and teams either held their leads or fought back to be back in the game.

I really liked the personal growth and maturity shown by our players and the ability of our team members to take on the challenges that playing in a long tournament such as this brings on.

What most impressed me was that every player gave their best effort. What more could we ask for!.

The whole group appeared to have a really good time, lots of smiles, lots of laughter and I hope that in the years to come all can look back on this tournament with fond memories.
